Hand-bound Books

My work place is a mess and these photos arent so great (I havent gotten around to setting them each up to photograph nicely), but I wanted to give everyone a sneak peak of what I’ve been up to the past few weeks!

These are pictures of some of the books I’ve been making! The eventual idea is to sell both hand-bound journals – both with textured paper and decorative papers as covers as well as using some photos (esp. photos of textures, my favorites!) – as well as hand-bound limited edition photo books.

I’m enjoying experimenting with the different types of binding – so far my favorites are definitely the books that involve stitching! They are sturdy and open fully, which the perfect-bound (glued books) do not do as well.

I’ve also been making lots of mini books with the materials I have leftover!

The journals will be available for sale soon. This summer I hope to begin making prototypes for some of the books that I will fully edition later this fall. Stay tuned for more!
